auto number to populate existing records

Hi, I have created an auto number field with counter starting from 80000 on an object with already around 12k existing records, is there any way by which i can update previous records with desired numbers in that auto number field.

    Hi Sunil,

    Yes, actually for existing records we had some different set of codes and same we want to populate there for blank value of auto number
