Validation Rule- Create New Events

Question

I am looking to create a validation rule that prevents users from creating our 'coach visit' Event record type from the calendar. I don't want to take this record type away from the users as they create this type of Event record type from the Account object. I just want to prohibit them from creating this type of Event record type from the 'new event' button on the Calendar.

Hi Brittany,

Unfortunately we can't use validation rule to restrict users in creating events from the calendar app. I would suggest to use apex trigger for this. Also, may I suggest joining the Developer forums below to collaborate with the experts for best practice and advice.
