Is maximum formula length identical in all versions of salesforce?

Random question relating to foreseeable roadblocks. Just building a case for upgrading and am curious.

Yes, Character limit—Formula fields can contain up to 3,900 characters, including spaces, return characters, and comments. If your formula needs more characters, create separate formula fields and reference them in another formula field.

Hi Amit,   If you reference one formula in another, then also Salesforce creates issue, because character limit of previous formula is counted in new one as well.
