doing following trail,
I have created the relavent fields on Product, Configuration attribute and Quote line object
I have also added the global configuration attribute / attribute set and linked to the related product
but I am not able to see dropdown to select Color/material etc on a related product e.g. on Watch Bands category
Can you please help!!

Can you check the Attribute Set for "Watch Band Style" and see if you have added the related Attribute Items? I guess I am suggesting you review each and every step in this section: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/projects/personalize-smartwatches-with-salesforce-cpq-attributes/create-attributes-for-watch-band-styles
Your eyes will glaze over and you may have to take a nap half-way through. :) But then be sure to start where you left off.
