If I have a child object on Opportunity which I am using for a custom approval process. Users are still creating record and maintaining that child. is there a way to report on stale opportunities based on, if there is no over all action on the Opportunity and the custom object associated to it?

I am not worried about the roll up as I dont want to know how many records it has. My main concern is to report on whether the record was last modified. I want to report on Opportunity + Child object. the entire parent and child record on whole
