Hello All,

Background: We have configured Salesforce ("Yesterday's solutions are today's problems") to use Just In Time (JIT) provisioning to create a Community User and link it to an existing Contact the first time the user logs in to our Community. The link between User and Contact is based on the email address set on the Contact (which uses an external system to pull the the User details such as Username).

Problem: The issue arises when the email address is put on the incorrect Contact (Contact A). User A then logs in for the first time (through JIT) and doesn't see what they expect. We can then move the email address to the correct Contact (Contact B) but this doesn't change the link between the User A and Contact A. I can then deactivate User A and JIT will be executed to create User B linked to Contact B. My question is how to remove the link between User A and Contact A since User A is deactivated? The obvious approach of editing the Contact link is not available on the User detail record.

Thanks for any ideas.

    Hi Candace,

You can disable the Community User that is no longer being used to remove its association to the contact record. You only need to go to the contact record and click on the "Manage External User" button. If the option to disable the user is not available, you may try editing the page layout to see if the button has been added.

    I hope this helps!
