Hello Community

Is there a best practice, that does not requires a lot of manual customization, to relate opportunity values to certain partners that are involved there?

Right now if I use the standard related list functionality I just see then the total oppty value, lets say it is 1mio with partner A that was added to that oppty.

But in reality partner A is maybe only responsible for a small quota of this 1mio ->so current setting is then quite misleading. Also if Im adding more than one partner to the same opportunity and later Im doing a report sorted by partners, I see the value 1mio once attached to Partner A and once attached to Partner B. In reality again I would rather have a view that will show me e.g. Partner A "is responsible" for 100k and Partner B for 250k out of the total of 1mio. on that particular oppty.

Also any helps, ideas, best practice to kind of show "kick backs" for the partner on an opportunity as well. E.g. Partner is reselling "License" for us on Opportunity A. Opportunity A has a total deal size of 1mio and for the re-selling work the related partner on that oppty would get let's say 15% kick back. How could we show that?

Thanks a lot,

Philipp

yes admitted this would be for now a more "quick and dirty" solution and since there are not that many such cases, I though of simply just add and calculate it manually.

So e.g. the whole dealsize for product A would be 100k out of this 100k->10k is Partner A share, 20k is Partner B share, then I would note it down as follows (via oppty product):

    -product A       quantity 1           salesprice     70k          total price 70k

-partners share quantity 1          salesprice       10k        total price 10k       partner lookup: partner A

-partner share quantity 1           salesprice         20k        total price 20k      partner lookup: partner B

    that would work, like?

What better solution would you have, especially something that is substainable and scablable in the future?
