How can I build something that triggers update for all child contact records when a field on account is changed? We a re a big organization with lots of clients and any automation would be very helpful.

Jo, how many records are we talking about here? Do you perform mass update on Accounts?
- If the number of Contact records related to an Account isn't much and you don't perform bulk updates on Accounts , Process Builder is fine
- However, since you mentioned it's a big organization with lots of clients, I am assuming that there will be a lot of Accounts and related Contacts. If there can be 500 or 1000 or 2000 contacts for an Account (rare case but possible), do not use Process Builder or Flow or it's going to explode in your face when a bulk update happens at the Account level. Go for a bulkified Apex trigger that is sweet and simple , does the job and doesn't explode.
