visualforce window navigation vanishes

Question

I have noticed that when trying to leaf through the Pardot visualforce window in Salesforce, the navigation vanishes if the activities in the window are two lines deep, leaving me stranded without the ability to page forward or back.

In other words, at the bottom of the visualforce window it will say "<<previous page x of x next>>" Clicking next will take me to the next screen. If entries are two lines however, the window expands vertically and the "<<next, etc" navigation vanishes , leaving me stranded.

Has anybody else experienced this, and if so, is there a solution?

Have you allowed for Scrolling of VF page?
