Report with Custom Fields

Question

I have created a Custom Field for a Custom Object. Is it possible to add this field to any report type (including custom report types)?

Hi Andrew,

If you have the reports Enabled for the Custom Object the field is automatically included in the report type that is created as a standard when you created the custom object.

For your existing custom report types that uses the custom object you need to add the field to the custom report type by editing the layout.

(You can only add this field to the custom report type where the object is either used a Primary object, or related child object)

Hi Andrew,   The field is added automatically to standard report types.     The field must be added manually to each Custom Report Type   The reason for this is that CRTs are often used to reduce the amount of fields that are in an object to a usable amount.   There is an idea out there (probably more than 1) to automate this if desired   https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000h8DhAAI
