If I delete a territory can I keep closed opportunities in the old territory?

Hi Leah,

Are you trying to delete a Territory from the setup? To my understanding, deleting the Territory would remove the Territory from the associated records. Is there a reason why deleting it would be necessary?

No, I don't need to delete them. I was thought that if I create new territories and leave the old ones that I could take the territory assignment rules out of the old territories and put them in the new ones and just not run the rules right away. this way, I was hoping, that the accounts in the old territories could stay in the old territories until its time to move them to the new territory. then I can just move them to the new territories. Wondered if this was the best way to do this if we are reconfiguring our territories but we need to leave some accounts in the old territories until commissions are paid and then move them to the new territories.
