Quantity and Revenue Schedules Error Message

 

My client is an educational institution that offers courses and coaching for Executives and HR reps. In this case, I was trying to set up a Product for them for a 6 month Executive Coaching contract, billed monthly. The customer would be charged every month for a service that will be provided every month for the duration of the contract. 

 

First: Am I setting this up correctly? I have set the List Price to be my client's standard hourly rate for Executive Coaching, and figured the quantity on the Opportunity Product level would be the number of hours each month their customer is requesting (usually 2, but sometimes more or  less).

 

Second: Why am I getting this error? As far as I can tell, I should be able to do this according to the documentation. Has anyone else gotten an error like this?

    You have a conflict between Quantity and Revenue Schedule. One of these variables has to be fixed, not both.

     

    Based on the use case you describe, your product is fixed quantity and your billing is monthly. You need to change the Quantity schedule. Set the Quantity Schedule Type to None (default) or change to divide into equal amounts.
