What kind of report do I need?

I am a pretty new Admin, work for a nonprofit, using NPSP with donations as opportunities and with households as accounts. We need a report that shows the # of donors (don't want to list names, just # of donors) who are at various $-$$ ranges over the past 5 years. I know how to create buckets for the ranges, but not sure which report type I need (thinking contacts w/donations & households?) and if it needs to be a joined format to show across 5 years in a way that makes sense? Thanks for any tips!

    If donations are Opportunties all you need is Accounts with Opportunties report native report. You then add ranges as buckets and group by Accounts and can hide details on the report to only see number of records. For acorss 5 years you can filter on the date that represents that such as Field Equals LAST 5 YEARS.
