A client has 1000's of products from different manufacturers that they need to have access to on a single opportunity.
1. What is the best way to manage/search these products based on Manufacturer? or
2. Is there an App Exchange Product that will allow for multiple price books?
3. Any other ideas for managing such a huge Product list are most welcome.

I would look into CPQ, but what is the need for many pricebooks for one opp, I will tell you this now that won't be an option in Salesforce. If you want them all on one opp then you they all will have to be on one pricebook. Nice thing about cpq is the product selection process can be customized. But this will be with a price tag and a lot of work.
