partner communities for doorknocker salespersons

I have a team of 100+ door to door salespersons that I want to give access to salesforce so they can input leads in salesforce with further access to reports about converted opps and stages they are in. I also want them to be able to update just some stages in opp to show customer status. I would like then to give them a reports about their deals and a dashboard. Is this possible using communites and what should I know before I commit to the licenses. What are the limitations ? Appreciate your responses
