When I am writing in the Next Step field, I cannot see all information I am typing in the Next Step field.

Agree with Jeff that Next Step needs to be short phrases like: Appointment 9/16/2014, Contract to be signed 9/20/2014, etc. Ask your sales organization what they're doing with the information and why they want to put so much information in this particular field. Tasks are generally MUCH better for detailing the Activity (Call/Email/Appointment), Dates, notes, participants. Is your organization tracking tasks? If not, it would be a great recommendation as it gives excellent insight into where opportunities are stalled, or what needs to happen from Opportunity creation to close.
