I have a user in Salesforce asked me if there is a Calender (like Microsoft Outlook) function where she is able to place notes on certain dates, while Salesforce sends her a reminder. If not, do you have any other suggestions where I can find a familiar method on Salesforce?

She can use the native Events which does get refelcted on the salesforce calendar. the advantage is that if you use salesforce for outlook you can sync it with your outlook calendar.
But if you just need reminders you can use the normal Tasks to set reminder dates
