I understand is not possible to set up campaigns for accounts but I am trying to set up Salesforce around this issue.
Basically, we have a list of business that our sales managers need to contact for our current campaign. They are all leads. In our business, we cannot treat contacts as leads, only accounts.
Could anyone please suggest a way I could include all these accounts in Salesforce and after transferring them to their specific account owners, I would like to be able to report on their visits? What we need to know:
- When and if all accounts have been contacted
- Measure how many became opportunities
cheers

I am assuming that your account managers are logging activites for thier visits/calls?
Add fields on the task that will track the metrics that you are looking to track. You will be able to use the last activity date on the account to know when the account was contacted last.
You may be able to do a joined report to see the last activity on an account and what things that they talked about.
