Can't see Custom Report Type

I have a Custom Report Type that shows under "Other Reports".  I can use it to create a report, but it is missing a field I want to use.  When I look under "Custom Report Types", I don't see this particular custom report type.  I know it was created by another admin, but I naively thought I would be able see it and edit to include the field I want.   The report accesses a standard object, if that helps.  I would prefer to use the existing Custom Report and not just create a duplicate that differs by one field.

 

How do I find the custom report created by some one else and edit it ?

    If the report type is Standard does that mean we cannot edit it?  So we'd have to recreate it ourselves?
