I have 2 custom obects that aren't a master/child relationship. I'm trying to figure out if I can do a cross object formula using fields from both of these objects. Is there is a work-around for doing this if they aren't related or a master/child relationship?

Thanks,

Joe, you don't need an M-D relationship to do a cross object formula, meaning that it can be a lookup relationship too in order to create a cross object formula. However if you don't have either one of those, you cannot create a cross object formula.

You must create a lookup field or M-D relationship field on one object to establish a lookup/M-D relationship between two objects (parent and child). There isn't any workaround to that since it wouldn't make sense to have a cross object formula field without an existing relationship between objects.
