How does the free SalesForce Developer Edition Work? What are the limitations?

Can someone explain to me how the Develop Edition works? I am trying to become a SalesForce Admin, not a Develope, and I want some extra practice building my own system and testing difference aspects of SalesForce. Is that what the Developer Edition does? Does it have access to Workflow and Validation Rules? Or is this more geared to writing code?

    It's most like Enterprise and above.  It does everything you need, with the exception of some of the brand new lightning app work.

     

    For configuration it will have just about everything

    • Workflow
    • Validation
    • Approvals
    • Process Builder
    • All the objects you could want
    • etc, etc

    And you can do full Apex, Visualforce, etc in there as well

     

    The real difference is that they don't give you a lot of storage
