I have a custom object with several recordtypes.  I want to create these using visual workflow but I get an error when trying to set the recordtype ID.  I have the id and I have confirmed that it is the correct one.  What is the secret to doing this?

Thank you Sachin. I had already done what you describe to get the ID, I

NEVER hard-code an Id!! I too learned this lesson the hard way. Anyway,

my issue was that I did not have values in all the required fields. I

hadn't realized that validation rules do not fire in flows. I did mark

your website as a favorite as I saw that it contained lessons on other

things I will be tackling. This is my first visual workflow project. We

have used code to accomplish a lot of custom functionality and now are in

the predicament of having to reduce the amount of code due to limits.

Now I am trying to automatically fire an approval process from a flow

without my user having to push a button. Is this possible?

    Thanks,
