When i tried to update "Projected Annual Revenue"(Amount - standard field) - in Opportunity object, this field shows a loced field.
I am system adminstrator (standard salesforce profile) in this org.
Also i got this message when i modify this opportunity reord.
In OWD opportunity object is set to "Private". the current record owner (non - sytem admin) doesn't have "Read" and "Edit" prmission on opportunity object.
Can anyone elp me to resole why the system admin unable to update the field value "Projected Annual Revenue"(Amount - standard field)?

An opportunity is a possibility of a sale. When you choose to use products on an opportunity, you are deciding to be much more granular and accurate in your opportunity. An opportunity with no products might be looked at like, I have an opportunity with Company X for $50,000. When you use products, it gets a bit more specific. your opportunity is looking at like this. I have an opportunity with Company X, it has 1 Widget A for $20,000 and 1 widget B for $30,000, for a total opportunity amount of $50,000. Its a much more detailed look at the opportunity.
If you think the opportunity amount should be different, then you manipulate the products on it. you can add products, remnove products, add discounts to products, etc. That is how you change the opportunity amount when you have prioducts associated with it.
