Hi all,

 

I am testing the Outlook to Salesforce sidepanel and I have a couple of questions:

 

1. the Activity History report will log this at the bottom of the log list. How can I change this so that it appears in chronological order with newest on top?

 

2. despite choosing which record to log the email to, this will show in all records, ie Accounts and Opportunities. how can I customise this?

 

all help would be much appreciated!

    The Activity list, I believe, is based on the sort order as defined on the parent objects page layout. That is to say on your Account page layout you can modify the sort order on the related list. Based on that it should also change the sort order on your side panel. Don't quote me on that though. It's easy enough to test either way.

     

    Some objects, like Opportunity for example, have relationships with other objects, like Account. If you relate an email to an Opportunity for example it will also show up at the Account level. Same is true for Contact. The system actually only allows activity and events to be parented to a single WhatID which means you can only relate that email to one Account, Opportunity, Case, or any custom object for example.
