Mobile is a standard field on the lead object. When I add it to the layout, save and exit it does not appear on the object. Refreshing the screen doesn't help and when I go back in to edit the layout the Mobile field is visible in the lead detail.
Can you please confirm your field permission...if you can see mobile in page layout but not on the record then mostly its related to field permission..
