Notify Case Owner of New Case Comments

Select this checkbox to notify the case owner when a user adds a public or private comment to a case. If you select this setting, case owners can't opt out of receiving these notices. (Notices aren't sent to inactive case owners.)

I have the checkbox un-selected on my Support Settings page for Cases, but I haven't been able to locate  the option for case owners to opt out of New Case Comments.

    When you select this box then it means you cant opt out ..the notification will be send to case owners when you uncheck it no notifications is send until unless

    you create workflow rule on Case Comments object and action Email Alerts and sent it to owner using custom email template.

    Senario 1: suppose you want all the case owners to get notification then just check this box

     

    Senario 2: only want paticualr case owners to get notification uncheck this box and write a workflow rule for that..

     

     

    According to me you can do it like this
