I am here cause I'm having an issue being able to edit the "Primary Address Type" Field on the contact record. I have checked field accessibility, profiles, etc. and everything says that it is editable. Now the thing is, it is editable for those whom are migrated in through the API, but for others it does not allow me to change that field at all. The picklist will simply be grayed out and uneditable. Any clue on why I cannot edit it for some and not others? Thanks

Check the Page Layout and make sure the filed is not set to Read Only at the Page Layout Level
