Is it possible to give only one user "write" access to products?

Our firm doesn't use the products tab in the traditional way. As we are a financial services company, our products are our different rates. We attach a copy of our rate card to the relevant product and link this to the account. We want to improve our security by making it so that only a single user can edit the attachment for the product or even edit products at all. Is there a way to make the products tab read only for all other users? Or to prevent them from being able to add/edit/delete attachments, or change the product names?

    Anyone with the System Administrator Profile or at least the Modify All Data permission are going to be able to make edits regardless if they are the person you want to have the permission or not.

     

    Otherwise, you can set the CRUD access on Products to only Read for all Profiles, which would prevent them from editing any Product fields.
