I cant seem to create a custom formula field that can find the salutation and last name of the household to create a greeting that reads Mr. & Mrs. Jon Doe.

The current household greeting which cannot be changed says Mr Jon and Mrs. Jane Doe. I'd like to have the correct format of Mr. & Mrs. jon Doe, or at least Mr. & Mrs. Doe.

I cant seem to pull the two out on a formula field in the household object nor on the contact object.

I don't think it's accurate to call the sexist/formal format of "Mr. & Mrs. Jon Smith" "correct," implying that the egalitarian format that the NPSP Households package provides is "incorrect."

The greeting can be changed on a record-by-record basis, and once you've done that, the automated calculation of the Formal Greeting will not be in effect. If you want to change them in bulk, your best bet is to reun a report with ID, edit in Excel, and then update the records with DataLoader or similar.

You may get additional pointers if you ask this in the Power of Us Hub's (

    http://powerofus.salesforcefoundation.org/) NPSP group.
