One of the most significant issues limiting the adopting of Salesforce at my organization (a small nonprofit which runs an online college) is that people find it too difficult or time-consuming to log calls.

As far as I know, to log calls one must go into the individual Contact or Lead record, then click the Log a Call button, then fill out the required fields and click Submit.

I'm wondering if there is either a) a way to simplify this using Salesforce native functionality, or b) an AppExchange app (preferably free or with a nonprofit discount) that could make this simpler.

I have started using the GridBuddy app and have created Grids of Leads that let you create the Activity record directly. However, I think that this interface may be slightly overwhelming for the users at my organization.

I am wondering if this is anything available with a simpler UI.

Thanks - I just tried that, and it definitely makes it easier. They'll just need to have the SF report that shows the list of people they are calling in a separate window.
