I was wondering if anyone has tracked sales goals when the data is housed in a custom object.

 

I'm thinking I would just create a goals object but then would have to link the specific goals records to my custom object that contains the sold information.

 

I'm thinking this is still going to be a problem when I want to take my cutom object that holds sales and sum the totals... How am I going to total one custom object and then compare those totals to the single goal value to come up with a percentage? 

 

Before I start down a dead end I was wondering if anyone else has done this successfully and if so, how.

    Hi Fred,

     

    Which edition of SFDC are you using?  How would the custom object with the "goal" Amount be related to the User and the Account, Opportunity, etc?
