Forecast Item History - Beyond 4 Months

Question

Does anyone know if there is a way to extract Historical Forecast Items beyond the 4 months that the report builder gives you access to? It appears the table automatically deletes records older then 4 months, but I’m hoping that is not the case.

Historical reporting in salesforce is painful, but field tracking should be held for 18 months... If you're looking to get past that have you considered snapshots?
