Hello!
I just picked up a PBI (User Story) on my backlog titled: Sales and Marketing Document Storage
The essence of the need, of course, is for Salespeople to share and collaborate on PPTs. We're moving away from SharePoint on-prem. We are not yet (but should eventually be) in O365/OneDrive from Microsoft.
The objectives:
- Control versions of documents available to the sales teams and ensure they have the latest/greatest
- Allow convenient access to templated documents (discovery forms, presentations, product sheets, ads, etc.) that users can download and customize but not edit on the actual template
- Enable the sales team to publicly share certain documents with contacts outside of org (prospects, leads, etc.); this sharing would be done via email and, eventually, through templates in Salseforce
- Allow owners of the content to upload changes on a regular basis while restricting access to "view only" for others
- Ideally, this folder and subfolders can be favorited or bookmarked by the users
My initial thoughts FILES.

Then looked at the comparison of features. The 2GB Limit may hurt (can that be expanded with a Help ticket?)

My biggest question really they haven't asked here yet - that is tracking how many times someone viewed it and who it was. Cause eventually salespeople John, Paul, George and Ringo, are going to ask who's viewed their content, especially if external.
Yes, I have a couple files uploaded and can see File Engagement, Shared With, etc. status. But how is that reportable without having to look at each file? (See attached)
All that being said, and preaching the choir of course in the "Files" Trailblazer Community, but is Files still the way to go?
Thanks! Looking forward to the discussion here.
Peace. Stay Safe!
