I'm in the process of transitioning to Enhanced Notes and Files and I was wondering if anyone knows why attached files are now going to show up in both the Attachments and in the Files related list.

I was really bummed to learn that I couldn't make a clean transition and just convert all attachments to files with the Magic Mover.  So I'm keeping the Notes and Attachments related list on the page layout so that my users can still see old attachments added via emails.  I already felt this was confusing since the related lists appear to be the same thing (but different) and to make matters even worse now all new files are going to clutter the Attachments and further confuse my end users.

This doesn't make sense to me.  Is there something I'm missing?  Has anyone come up with less confusing way to deal with this?  Do I just remove the attachments related list and throw out the idea that some users might want to access old attachments added via emails?

Also, is there a way to prevent users from adding Notes to the Notes and Attachments related list?  I enabled the Enhanced Notes, but when I add a Note to this related list it's not added as an Enhanced Note.  I didn't see anything else in the settings aside from the enable checkbox.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    @David Louie

    Thank you! That helps to clarify things. Unfortunately most of my users will be working out of Classic for some time, but at least now I have more clarity and direction.

    I will plan to make both Enhanced Notes and Files available to my users, but only add the Notes RL to the page layouts. And I will make note that Classic/old Notes can still be added from Classic, but Enhanced Notes is available for use in both UIs.

    Thank you so much!
