We're 99% a Mac shop so supporting Safari is a must for us.  On my machine, my Lightning experience is fine in Chrome.  However, when I use Safari, EVERY link I click to navigate through prompts me with, "We'd like to open the Salesforce page https://domo--partial.cs42.my.salesforce.com... in a new tab. Because of your browser settings, we need your permission first."  The new content should have just loaded within the detail pane of the existing browser tab with no fuss.

If I click Cancel I can't access the item I tried to click on.  If I click Open, the content loads but in a new tab.  I've tried Googling and playing with all the browser settings I can find but I can't see to identify what combination of settings is preventing the in page loading.  Best I've been able to do so far is get rid of the prompt but I can't seem to get anything (for example, the page layout configuration pane) to actually load within the Salesforce window like it should.

Has anyone seen this and solved it previously?

@Valerie Devereaux Thanks for sharing the solution! I'm glad you at least found a workaround. If you find you have to repeat this too often, you might log another case and ask them to investigate further as it generally shouldn't be necessary to clear browser history on a regular basis, only occasionally as a troubleshooting step to clear out any old cobwebs that are hanging around....
