When I build aura:application Lightning App to host components in code I cannot launch or see this app anywhere other than Dev Console, cannot even reopen the app id console is closed. Since it is not visible anywhere in LEX I cannot even add this app as one of the Tabs or enable it for any Console app.

Nothing is documented around working with aura:application in Lightning Console or how to launch it in LEX. Seems only use is Mobile may be???
