*** Do you use Account or Opportunity Partners? We need your feedback! ***
As part of our effort in evaluating the move of Account and Opportunity Partners to Lightning we would like to know more about how you use the feature. A few quick questions to start below:
- Do you use both Account and Opportunity Partners?
- If you use both, do you create partner relationships from the Opportunity or the Account?
- If you create from the Opportunity, how important is the automatic creation/display of the partner in the corresponding Account Partners related list?
- How important is the ability to designate a Primary partner?
- Do you use the Roles field or leave the field blank?
- What is the business use case for Account or Opportunity Partners in your organization?
Currently, Account and Opportunity Partners are closely coupled so we are trying to determine if this functionality is widely used or if they should be independent of one another.
As always, we love to hear your feedback on how you are actually applying these features in your organizations! If you would be open to further discussions about the feature be sure to note this in your comments.
@Cari Aves . We work together with other companies to develop products which use a component we supply. This development is a collaboration between at least three different partners, and each partner has a different role in that process. We have the client who is going to use the product, we have their IT partner that develops the product and we have a regulator that is invested in the project. Because of this co-creation it is necessary that these roles be reciprocal. Having an overview of the various partners is a must have.
The manual action I described previously, is a result of the workaround we currently use. We would like to automate the process. This is a requirement we’ll explore when our current development cycle has been completed.
