I wanted to introduce myself. I am an administrative assistant (mom who went back to work after years of staying at home). I am teaching myself Salesforce as I very much want to obtain a job (hopefully in the non-profit sector) where I feel more fulfilled and have more challenging work with a company that is making a difference in the world (esp. in the areas of human rights, environment or healthcare). I enjoy working with databases (although my experience is pretty limited), have read a lot about Salesforce and know it is used more and more within the non-profit world. I have completed one course in the basic usage of Salesforce and am now studying to pass the Salesforce Admin 201 certification. It is sometimes slow going, but I work on it daily. I use a combination of books and websites to learn (Trailhead, UDemy, Salesforce for Dummies and Salesforce CRM - The definitive Admin Handbook). I also discovered the Quizlet website that has flashcards for memorizing (not my strong point).
My background is:
B.A. in Government (George Mason Univ.)
18 credits towards a MA in Public Administration (Univ. of CO @ Denver)
A.A.S. in Health Information Management (No VA. Community College)
I plan to start looking seriously sometime after the new year for a new job.
