I'vs noticed unusually high held rates across some of our email sends, although the issue appears to be intermittent. Has anyone experienced something similar, and if so, could you please share what may have caused it and how it was resolved?

I’m also seeing an increase in “View in Browser” clicks. Could these two issues potentially be related?

It is important to disctinguish between bounce rates (hard/soft)  - which is specific to a send, and held status, which is specific to a subscriber. Are you referring to bounce rates on your latest sends? And if so - are these soft bounces?

If you query Bounce data view, you will be able to see additional details about the bounces, and why they have occurred. If the bounce rates have spiked recently, it might be a deliverability issue - but without additional information, than what is in your original post, it is hard to tell.

Why are we now seeing many Salesforce instances carrying duplicate  "Standard Einstein Activity Capture" Permission Sets?

Many of our client orgs now have two EAC Perm Sets:

1.  StandardEinsteinActivityCapturePsl

2.  StandardEinsteinActivityCapture

2

Psl

Does this have to do with EWS > Graph? Or the update to capture EAC emails/events as real activities?

Would be nice for Salesforce to provide documentation..

How can I send an email template to a list of contacts? I am referring specifically to the 'one-to-one' email templates that can be created when clicking on the email icon from a contact record (or other activity feed), and clicking the 'insert, create, or update template' button at the bottom of the email editor. I have a number of templates saved here which I use regularly on a one-to-one basis, but I would like to be able to send those to a larger group of contacts.

If I view a list of contacts/leads/campaign members, check the box, and click 'send email', it opens a 'list sends' tab and an editor appears for me to create a marketing email with images, calls to actions etc. I'm not looking to create a marketing email, I just want to send the personalised looking email templates which I have already created and been using on a one-to-one basis.

Glad you tracked that down, Tom, and yes, that's confirmed correct.

Per official Salesforce documentation (List Email Limitations page): "Required Editions: Available in: Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions."

Starter isn't in that list, so List Email genuinely isn't available on Starter, this wasn't a config or permission issue at any point, it was an edition gap. Essentials is the correct minimum tier for what you're trying to do.

    Reference:

    https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.limitations_email_list_email.htm&type=5

Good call moving up, sounds like you're already past the point where Starter fits your workflow.

Hi,

When emails are sent from cases, don't receive any out-of-office messages or failed email messages.  In one case there was a typo error in the email address, but didn’t receive an error message like the one you get when you send an email incorrectly in Outlook. Can Salesforce capture and display Out-of-Office responses or email bounce-back messages for emails sent from Cases? Are there any email settings, Email-to-Case configurations, or deliverability options that need to be enabled to receive these notifications?

Thanks.

One important nuance to add to Kundan's answer, because this trips people up on Cases specifically:

Bounce Management (Setup > Deliverability) flags the Contact/Lead/Person Account record, not the Case. Even with it enabled you will not get a bounce badge on the Case's email message itself, and 'Return bounced emails to sender' delivers the bounce notice to the sending user's own inbox, not onto the Case timeline. It also only kicks in reliably when the recipient resolves to a Contact/Lead/Person Account email, a free-typed typo address that matches no record can bounce with nothing flagged in Salesforce at all. That is most likely why your typo case showed nothing.

How OOO replies and bounce (NDR) messages actually behave: they are just inbound emails sent back to whatever From/Reply-To you used. If you send from the Case using your Email-to-Case routing address, those replies DO come back into Salesforce, but by default they usually create a brand-new Case rather than attaching to the original, unless threading matches them up (Lightning header-based Email-to-Case threading, or the legacy Ref ID token in the subject/body). So the first thing I would check: search for Cases created from the mailer-daemon or the recipient's mail server around that time. Your OOO and bounce messages are probably sitting there as separate cases.

If what you actually need is a reliable per-message 'did this bounce?' status shown on the Case, native Case email sending does not expose that. For that, route sending through an external email service/relay that reports bounces via webhook (e.g. SendGrid, or Email Relay with a mail server that returns delivery status), or use Marketing Cloud / Account Engagement for tracked sends. Those give true delivered/bounced status per message.

    Quick checklist:

    1. Setup > Deliverability: Bounce Management ON (flags Contact/Lead recipients).

    2. Confirm you are sending with the Email-to-Case routing address as From/Reply-To so replies return to Salesforce.

    3. Verify Email-to-Case threading (Lightning threading or Ref ID) so OOO/bounce replies attach to the original Case instead of spawning new ones.

    4. For guaranteed per-message bounce status, use an external relay with bounce webhooks or MC/Account Engagement.

If this helps, please mark it as the Best Answer so it is easy for the next person to find. Thanks :)

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for clarification on the current behavior of Salesforce Organization-Wide Email Address (OWEA) verification.

Historically, when an Organization-Wide Email Address was created, Salesforce sent a verification email to the specified address. The recipient could open the email, click the verification link, and the address would become verified.

We are now seeing a scenario where selecting the verification link redirects the recipient to a Salesforce login page instead of completing the verification process.

A Salesforce Support representative indicated that, following a recent Salesforce release, the person opening the verification link may need to authenticate with Salesforce to complete the verification process. However, I have not been able to find any official documentation or release notes that describe this change.

The Salesforce documentation I found states that each organization-wide address requires verification and that an admin verifies a new organization-wide address by clicking the link in the email sent after creating the address, but I don't see any mention of a Salesforce login requirement for the recipient.

My questions are:

  1. Has anyone else observed Organization-Wide Email Address verification links redirecting users to a Salesforce login page?
  2. Is a Salesforce login now required to complete OWEA verification?
  3. If this behavior is expected, is there any official documentation or release note that explains the change?
  4. Is there a supported verification process for recipients who do not have Salesforce user accounts?

Any insight or links to official documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone!

I recently triggered a process builder that sends an email (created with classic email templates) to the preferred email on the contact but the request's status is what triggers the process builder. Anyways, I was wonder if there was a way to see more email statistics? I can see that it triggered when I go to the activities/tasks on the request record. But I want to see more information such as deliverability. Any idea if I can do that?

    Hey Jenna,

Have you enabled Email Tracking in Salesforce?

If not, check out this article on how to do that:

Hello,

My client is using LEX Service console and email-to-case. To improve email deliverability we successfully set up DKIM and wanted to configure SMTP Relay with Salesforce as well. I got all the information from my client's IT team that's necessary to set this up and configured it according to all the documentation I found.

However, as soon as it was activated in Salesforce, every single email failed. No auto-replies, no manually sent emails, no system emails were sent out for probably more than an hour.

For the email relay setup I used all information provided by the IT team, the Domain Filters were set up with the default wildcard for Sender and Recipient Domain (*) and I whitelisted all the IP addresses for Email relay mentioned in the article from Salesforce. I think I did everything I could but still, nothing worked.

The IT team saw in their email domain's log file that salesforce was not sending over a username for the relay - even though I added it to the relay in Salesforce.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work? Client is using Enterprise Edition and Gmail as their email inbox.

Also, is it possible to fully test this in Sandbox?

Just posting the solution here to close this thread. The problem was that there was no proper TLS certificate set up. Once the IT team changed this, Email relay worked like a charm.

I configured a letterhead and also a HTML classic mail template. The letterhead is used by the mail template and shows the logo of the customer, a top line etc. I tested everything quite often and it worked correct when receiving the mail.

I added the letterhead, mail template and the used documents (pictures) for the letterhead to GIT. After Deployment the received test email doesnt show the letterhead, only the mail template.

I checked if the letterhead is deployed to the org and if it is set to active. Also the letterhead is shown in preview mode of the html template.

While creating the mail template I noticed something similar. I changed the letterhead, but the send test mail would only show the old version of letterhead around the mail. The updated letterhead would only appear when creating a new mail template with the updated letterhead. It does not show changes of letterhead when just editing the mail template.

I guess as a workaround I could create the same mail template again in the other org and choose the available letterhead, but I wanted to ask if there are any other solutions or things I havent done correctly?

This would be quite a lot of work to create new mail templates manually in every Sandbox.

Can someone suggest the best step by step method to integrate Zoom with Marketing Cloud.

Like bring in registrant, attendee and Webinar details to Marketing Cloud from Zoom Webinars.

The approaches mentioned above (API + Automation Studio, webhooks, or middleware) are all valid. 👍 I'd just add a few considerations based on webinar setups I've seen over time.

If Zoom is already a fixed requirement, I'd like @EDGAR Joes suggests, lean towards webhooks or scheduled API syncs over relying heavily on middleware logic/third party apps like Zapier. Keeping Marketing Cloud responsible for segmentation and journeys, while treating the webinar software as the source of engagement data, tends to be easier to maintain.

If you're still evaluating the webinar platform itself, it's also worth looking at solutions with native Salesforce integrations (for example Univid) that can pass registrations, attendance, watch time and other engagement signals directly into the Salesforce ecosystem, instead of building/maintaining the integration yourself. That can reduce the amount of custom integration work over time, as things update and change.

Curious what approach you ended up taking.
