I have published a dashboard to our server but one of our UAT testers has spotted that they can alter the filters with the pill. Shown in the image below - hopefully. Please does any of you lovely folks know how to disable this so only the filter is shown (and not the dropdown) in published dashboards?

Many thanks in advance #staysafe

Kerry-Ann

When I publish my dashboard I want to remove the pills on the filters so that users cannot change the filter. How do I do this please?

Hello everyone!

I hope you and your family are doing well!!

Lockdown is behind us (for now at least...), summer holidays are behind us (unless you booked for september), so it's time to plan new User Group meetings... virtual meetings of course ;-)

I will let you know soon the dates and topics we will abord for our next meetings.

But feel free to share in comment if you have a specific topic you would like us to present.

Hi everyone - nice to join the community!

We have a question about the 'Subject' on the schedule.  When you create an event using the 'Add to schedule' button against an account, the name of the account is automatically added to the subject field and is shown in the schedule list view for the day.  However, we would like add some more detail to the subject field,  but also show the account name.  So I have two questions:

1. Can we modify which field is shown is the summary screen?  It looks like if you use the custom object option, you can select which field is the 'Event Name Field' in the config?

2 If not to Q1  - can we add the customer name to the summary page on the next line (<br>) ?

Kindest regards

Malcolm

    @Malcolm Mackay

It sounds like you want the subject to appear differently on an event that is created from Maps. This is possible with a bit of Salesforce magic.

What you'll need to do is create a custom field containing the string that you'd like to see. In my example, Im taking the Account name + Industry + Annual Revenue. So I created a custom formula that looks like this and called it "Enhanced Subject":

    Name &' - '& TEXT(Industry) &' - '& 'Annual Revenue - ' & TEXT(AnnualRevenue)

The subject of the meeting pulls from Tooltip 1 on the marker layer, so make sure you point to your new custom field on that Tooltip. I attached a screenshot below to show you.

When you add these markers to the schedule, they will be saved with the custom subject onto the calendar. If I've misunderstood your question, please let me know.

Dear Lovely Folks in Here.

I am on a STEEP Tableau learning curve but still very much a fresh faced (and slightly more gray haired) incomer so please be gentle with your answers...

I have generated two maps, one global and populated with data, and a second of just specific regions of the USA, which i have generated and saved. Now I need to layer them both on top of each other to show the world map, but the USA showing sub-regions.

Full outer join just crashed everything (my mess up somewhere) so I decided to build separate maps and combine them.

I have tried dual axis maps but cannot combine them as they are in separate worksheets and in dashboards I assumed it was to make one float on top of the other and map them both opaque. I have followed the instructions to make the sheets opaque but it doesn't seem to map the map figure opaque, just the surrounding area of the worksheet. I do think this must be the easiest way of doing this but what am I missing?

How do I make the background to maps opaque?

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Kerry-Ann,

Did you ever find a solution for this? If you didn't please could you share a sample workbook with us? (with redacted/dummy data if needed).

It would be super useful for us to review the structure of your data, the connections etc to see whether we'd need that join or if there's something that can be done in the view itself.

    Thanks,

    Mavis

Hi all,

I would like to ask everyone how to handle the columns' labels after joining in dataflow.

As you might know, when we join datasets in dataflow, columns' labels of right one are lapsed along with prefixes (relationship parameter) and changing those API names.

I always create clones for each with overwriting labels in CX, and delete joined source columns in slice.

I wonder whether there is a better way to change or recover source labels (especially dimensions) after augment or not.

Thank you in advance, and stay safe.

This may sound stupid, but I used Recipe to name the fields the way I want them to be.

This would help me in creating managed package for my analytics. When I install package, then I don't need to again go and change the field names in dataset as

    @William Brown mentioned.
