Has anyone here experimented with Salesforce-connected Android apps outside the Play Store? I came across a lightweight tool listed on capcet APK library and it sparked a few questions.

If you're building or testing Android apps that tap into Salesforce APIs or custom objects, is it acceptable (or even secure) to sideload them from these kinds of APK repositories during testing? Do you isolate them in a sandbox, or is there a risk of compromising your dev org or connected sandbox environments?

I’d love to hear if anyone here has had a similar use case — especially on managing third-party installs when deploying mobile test versions outside official app stores.

For me, it’s a mix of both, but the stops usually make the trip more memorable. The driving gives you the freedom to enjoy the scenery, music, and random conversations, while the unexpected stops are often where the best memories come from.

Hey there,

One of our customers is looking for a tool that can change voice to text.

I noticed there are some tools, but most of them are Service Cloud related. And we actually need a button which you can use everywhere for example. We have an intake form created with a screen flow, where it would be usefull if they could press a button, speak, and the voice would be transformed to text in the screen flow.

We are working with and for the healthcare branch where companies work with people who might have certain disabilities where this tool would work great for!

Hoping someone else ran into this question as well and could suggest something.

Thanks!

Yes, this is possible. A speech-to-text tool can let users click a button, speak their response, and have it converted directly into a Salesforce field. This can be especially useful for accessibility and reducing manual typing.

One option is Voice2Force, which lets you dictate directly into Salesforce fields using your voice.

Hello! Does anyone have any suggestions on call tracking features in salesforce? We are leaning towards Aircall CTI, but if anyone has any suggestions on something similar and/or better let me know!

We want it to be as seamless as possible - our reps make a call in salesforce and it's automatically tracked/notes, states how long the call was etc. and we can report on it.

Aircall sounds like a good fit for what you need. The automatic logging and call duration tracking are especially useful if your reps make a lot of calls. I’d also compare the reporting and CRM integration before deciding, since those can make a big difference once the team starts using it regularly.

We are a financial company offering a range of services to various organizations. We would like to integrate a live rate and chart for Qatar gold prices into our dashboard. Here is the link for reference. What steps should we take to achieve this? Do we need to create a separate report and then integrate it into the dashboard?

Hi, In my opinion no separate Salesforce report is needed. Suggested as below:

    1. Find a gold-price API that provides live Qatar gold rates and historical data.
    2. Create an Apex integration to call the API and retrieve the data.
    3. Store/cache the required data in Salesforce if needed.
    4. Build an LWC to display the current rate and historical data as a chart.
    5. Add the LWC directly to the Salesforce dashboard or Lightning page.

Hello,

I am currently looking into different ways to mass import articles from Sharepoint to Salesforce.  I am aware of the dataloader and Heroku app solutions but from my experience are very buggy and an arduous process.  Was wondering if anyone has recently done a similar migration and what tools they used?

I have been involved one migration from one salesforce org to another.(not from external source). We used informatica to have custom job built to load articles. One of the challenge we had faced related to articles containing images in rich text. That required some custom development done to retrieve images from source and while inserting into target we had to do it in certain way.  (https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.api_rest.meta/api_rest/dome_sobject_rich_text_image_retrieve.htm). I will send info regarding if i find on how to insert articles with rich text field.

Hello!

We have integrated a cloud telephony solution with Salesforce and both incoming and outgoing calld are being handled using this integration within Salesforce. Whenever a new call comes in (new or existing account), we would like it to open up in a new browser tab. However, we understand that Open CTI for Lightning Experience doesn’t support the softphone layout field "Screen pops open within when the value is New browser window or tab" and hence our requirement could not be met out-of-the-box.

I am reaching out to the developer forum to see if there is any other customer like us who faced the issue and if or not they were able to overcome the same using a custom API route.

Appreciate if anyone could help with this.

Thanks!

It is beyond comprehension that this issue was raised years ago and nothing was ever done by SFDC to address this.   I had raised this question years ago as well.   We have many associates at the college that receive/place calls.    They are still using the Classic UI, in 2026!   In Lightning UI, if an incoming call comes in and they accept it, the previous screen they are on is just wiped away.   It is a frequent use case that a representative needs to enter notes and/or make other edits to a contact /related records after a call is completed, but also to accept incoming calls ASAP to reduce wait times.   There is a reason why the call center definition / CTI setup provided the option to screen pop an incoming call in a new window/tab.  The reason for such did not disappear just because SFDC decided that this setting would not be respected in the Lightning UI.   My latest understanding is that CTI is considered legacy, no further development is being done, it is going away, and SFDC is recommending using "Salesforce Voice" or whatever they are calling it now

It looks to me like this is related to service cloud/omni-channel, so now a full license requirement just for functionality that platform licenses can currently provide?

Reaching the point of diminishing returns with this product.   Very frustrating and disappointing.

How do I overcome this integration problem with Mailchimp/Salesforce. Mailchimp syncs every new subscriber as a new contact SF. The criteria is based on solely on the email address meaning that we receive many duplicates of current SF contacts . If I try to merge the contacts in Salesforce, Mailchimp dutifully recreates the same data and syncs it again as a new contact in SF. How do I break this loop?

I also ran into the same issue and ended up moving that sync to Skyvia (you can check it here) and setting up the matching and upsert logic ourselves, so an incoming subscriber wasn’t just treated as a new Contact every time. You still need to decide what field should be the matching key, but it gave us much more control over the process.

We are seeing a repeating error from the Salesforce Slack app whenever a user posts a message in Slack. The message in the channel is delivered normally, but the author also gets an ephemeral error in the Salesforce app DM.

Error (Only visible to you):

There was a problem processing the Slack event MESSAGE_EVENT ErrorType: NullPointerException

This happens on every message typed directly in Slack.

Please advise how to stop the Salesforce app from sending these errors (configuration, scopes/event subscription, or a known platform issue). If the user sends a message from Salesforce, this error does not occur and everything works correctly;

We don’t have a custom Apex Slack app: no .slackapp / SlackApp metadata, no class extending Slack.EventDispatcher, and Apex Slack App User Setup is empty (no System User / Unmapped User row). The only Slack Apex in the org is SDO demo code (Slack Mission Control: org link / bundles), which is not subscribed to message events.

The ephemeral error comes from the first-party Salesforce app in Slack (Messages tab, “Sending messages to this app has been turned off”), on every message typed in Slack. Salesforce -> Slack does not trigger it.

So there is no handler where we can null-check getUser() / getText(), and we can’t remove message from Event Subscriptions — that app isn’t ours on api.slack.com.

If the same NPE string is also used when Salesforce’s own inbound handler throws, that would explain it. Any idea how to stop or debug that without a custom SlackApp?

I'm exploring video editing tools for creating engaging marketing content, specifically for customer outreach and training. Has anyone here used CapCut to create customer-centric videos? I'd love to hear your experiences, especially in terms of adding effects, transitions, and annotations that resonate with audiences.

For reference, I'm looking to integrate video content that complements my Salesforce-driven customer journeys. Any tips or examples would be greatly appreciated!

I also have the same question because I’m interested in how people are using CapCut for customer-focused marketing and training videos rather than just short-form social content. It seems like a useful approach when you want to make information easier to understand without making the video feel too formal or overloaded. I’d especially like to hear how others are using transitions, text annotations, highlights, and subtle effects to draw attention to important points while still keeping the content professional and easy for customers to follow. For training material, things like callouts, step-by-step overlays, captions, and screen recordings seem particularly useful.

The Salesforce connection is also an interesting part of this, since the videos could potentially complement different stages of a customer journey instead of being used as standalone promotional content. I’m curious whether anyone has experimented with creating different versions of the same video for onboarding, follow-ups, product education, or customer support. I’d imagine keeping the visuals consistent with the brand while making the message feel personal would be important. If anyone has examples of a CapCut workflow that works well for customer outreach or Salesforce-based journeys, I’d definitely be interested in hearing what editing techniques and video formats have worked best for them. You can check more about it here capctproapk.com

Are there super badges for BA to write Business Process Mapping, User stories, using tools such as JIRA,Confluence,PRD etc. to show Salesforce integration.
