#Salesforce Health Cloud13 debatiendo

Hi

I am getting started with Lifescience cloud.

I know it is divided into patient, clinical and customer engagement.

I would like understand how patient engagement works in Lifescience cloud.

Benefits verification, Care program management, financial assistance management is in health cloud.

But how does it is unique in Life science. Why do we need to go to life science cloud

Also Could someone share some documents how patient service works in Lifescience which is not in health cloud

Thanks in advance

Great question, Sanjana — this distinction trips up a lot of people.

The short answer: Health Cloud is built for care delivery organizations (hospitals, clinics, payers). Life Science Cloud is built for manufacturers — pharma, biotech, and medtech companies. They share a foundation, but the patient journey looks completely different depending on which side you're on.

Why the same features exist in both but aren't the same

Benefits verification, care program enrollment, and financial assistance do exist in Health Cloud — but they're modeled for a care team coordinating a patient's overall health. In Life Science Cloud, those same concepts are redesigned for a manufacturer running a Patient Support Program (PSP) on behalf of a specific drug or therapy. The manufacturer isn't the patient's doctor — they're a company helping patients access and stay on their treatment.

What's unique to Life Science Cloud Patient Services

    • Copay assistance and Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) — manufacturer-funded programs (free drug, co-pay cards, foundation referrals) with their own enrollment and fulfillment workflows
    • Prior authorization management scoped to a specific therapy — tracking PA status, appeals, and resubmissions for one drug
    • Hub services coordination — the specialty pharmacy / hub model that exists in rare disease and specialty pharma doesn't exist in standard Health Cloud
    • REMS program support — Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies are a regulatory requirement unique to certain drugs; LSC has objects and workflows to manage patient enrollment in REMS programs
    • Therapy-specific adherence programs — structured outreach tied to a medication, not general care management
    • Intelligent Document Automation — processing enrollment forms, prescription forms, and prior auth documents at scale

The framing that makes it click

In Health Cloud, the Care Program is centered on the patient's health. In Life Science Cloud, the Care Program is centered on the therapy — it's a manufacturer-sponsored support structure that exists only for patients on that specific product.

    Resources to dig into

    • Trailhead: Life Sciences Cloud Basics module
    • Salesforce Help: Patient Services in Life Sciences Cloud (search "Patient Services" in Salesforce Help filtered to Life Sciences Cloud)
    • The Life Sciences Cloud data model documentation — looking at how Patient, Enrollment, Financial Assistance, and Prior Authorization objects relate is the fastest way to see what's different from Health Cloud equivalents

Hope that helps frame where to start!

Hi Health Cloud / OmniStudio community,

We are replacing a legacy Health Check solution with Salesforce Health Cloud Discovery Framework Assessments.

The target model must support many forms, many assessment questions, and multiple languages.

Context

Health Cloud Assessments use Discovery Framework and OmniStudio to build assessment forms. The assessment forms are created with OmniScript / OmniStudio and surfaced through the Assessment component.

Salesforce documentation for multi-language OmniScripts describes the out-of-the-box translation approach using Custom Labels. The OmniScript custom label reference also shows that many element properties, including labels, help/error text, and select/radio/multiselect option values, rely on custom labels for translation.

In our first implemented form, the translation setup already generated approximately 250 Custom Labels. Since Salesforce Custom Labels are limited per org (5000), this does not appear scalable for additional forms, questions, response values, and languages.

What we evaluated

Salesforce has suggested Custom Metadata Types as a more scalable translation-management option.

However, in our testing, Discovery Framework assessment rendering does not resolve translated text dynamically from Custom Metadata Types at runtime (this is also documented as a limitation). In other words, we have not found a supported way to keep one assessment form and dynamically inject all question text, help text, and response values from CMDT based on selected language.

Resulting design decision

Because of this, we are currently moving toward a governed **one-form-per-language** model:

- one Discovery Framework assessment form per language

- questions authored directly in the local language

- local AssessmentQuestion / AssessmentQuestionVersion records per language

- a global parent/anchor question identity for reporting

- normalized answer identifiers for cross-language reporting

This avoids Custom Label exhaustion and keeps the runtime compatible with Discovery Framework, but it increases governance and deployment overhead.

Question to the community

Has anyone implemented large-scale multilingual Health Cloud Discovery Framework Assessments?

If yes:

1. Did you use OmniStudio multi-language Custom Labels, or did you also move to one form per language?

2. Has anyone successfully used Custom Metadata Types or another translation store at runtime inside Discovery Framework assessments?

3. How do you manage translated question text, help text, and picklist/radio/multiselect response values at scale?

4. How do you keep global reporting consistent across translated assessment forms?

5. Are there any Salesforce-supported patterns we should consider before finalizing the one-form-per-language approach?

Any experience, lessons learned, or recommended architecture patterns would be appreciated.

Hello Trailblazers,

I'm currently trying to learn Salesforce Health Cloud, but I'm finding it challenging to get enough hands-on practice.

While Trailhead provides a good introduction, I haven't been able to find comprehensive learning resources that cover Health Cloud in depth. There are only a few YouTube videos available, and the official documentation is quite fragmented, making it difficult to understand real-world implementation and gain practical experience.

Could anyone please recommend:

  •  Hands-on practice resources or sample projects for Health Cloud
  •  Comprehensive tutorials, courses, or YouTube channels
  •  Good documentation, blogs, or GitHub repositories
  •  Any tips on how to gain practical experience with Health Cloud features and data model

I'd really appreciate any guidance or resources that helped you learn Health Cloud effectively.

Thank you in advance for your support!

    Hi Khushi,

Having worked on a few Health Cloud implementations, my advice is to start with the data model

first and understand the use case,  everything else builds on it.

    Key areas to focus on:

    • Patients (Person Accounts / Patient 360)
    • HCPs & Care Teams (Healthcare Providers -> Doctor , Nurse, Facilities -> Hospital, Clinics)
    • Clinical Data (Encounters, Conditions, Medications, Medication Requests)
    • Care Programs & Care Plans
    • Caregivers & Care Team Members
    • Adverse Events (especially if you're working in Life Sciences / Patient Services)

    Best starting resources:

For hands-on learning, try mapping out this patient journey end-to-end:

Patient → Caregiver → HCP → Clinical Encounter → Care Program → Adverse Event

This single exercise will clarify how this work and how all the objects connect better than any documentation did for me.

Happy to answer any specific questions if you get stuck. Feel free to reach out🙂

Hi everyone!

I'm a Salesforce fresher with ~10 months of experience,

hands-on project experience in Agentforce, and a POC background. I currently hold the Salesforce Administrator and Agentforce Specialist certifications

, and I'm looking to transition into the Data Cloud domain, or other relevant Salesforce domain.

I'd love your guidance on two things:

1.

**Which Data Cloud/Salesforce certifications**

are most valuable for career growth at this stage?

2.

**Structured learning resources**

beyond Trailhead (courses, YouTube channels, blogs, etc.) to prepare for them effectively?

Any advice from those who've made a similar switch would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have any documentation about the Hospitality Cloud? Honestly, it's the first time I've heard of it, and I'm amazed. I'd like to know what it can do and how it can be integrated; basically, I want to know everything.

We’re seeing more cases where global Salesforce workflows run into healthcare laws requiring patient data to be stored and processed inside the country.    The workaround usually becomes regional environments, restricted access, or custom routing around regulated records.    It keeps things compliant, but makes the global operating model much harder to maintain.    Did anyone find another way around this?

Is there a way to install the Life Sciences Cloud Mobile on an iPad emulator like Xcode? Also, is there a direct download link available for the app? I just want to test the featured functionality of life sciend cloud in ipad

I’m working on a Salesforce Health Cloud use case and could use some guidance.     Our customers are patients, and Health Care Providers(HCPs) submit order forms or device settings for them. Many HCPs work across multiple clinics, but in Salesforce we maintain a single contact record per HCP. We want to build an HCP portal where each HCP can log in separately for each clinic they work with, so data stays properly segmented. Since Experience Cloud authentication is tied 1:1 to a contact record, I’m trying to figure out whether there’s a way to support “one login per clinic per HCP.”     Has anyone implemented something similar or found a workable pattern?    Thank you!

Experience Cloud is basically 1 user = 1 Contact. The pattern that usually works is keep one HCP user and relate that Contact to multiple Accounts (clinics), then control what they see with sharing/roles. If you really need strict separation per clinic, you’re looking at either separate Contact/User records per clinic or building some kind of clinic context switch in the UI, but most implementations stick with one identity + multiple account relationships.

The best place I've found to learn things is becoming a Salesforce partner and there are way more technical webinars and release notes than available to the common folk.  I started my own LLC so I could.  There are a few requirements each year but pretty easy.  Message me if you have questions.  https://partners.salesforce.com/pdx/

Hi Team,

I have added a member to a household account using the 'Add Member'. When I go to the member, it shows the relationship with household account on the relationship tree, however household account does not show the added member in the relationship tree.

Ankur, couple of things to check:

    • First, verify the AccountContactRelation record exists and is active. Go to Setup → Object Manager → AccountContactRelation and query the records for that household/member pair. Make sure IsActive is set to true and that the Roles field is populated (e.g. "Member"). A missing role is the most common reason the Household tree won't render the relationship
    • Second, check whether the Contact's direct Account lookup (Contact.AccountId) is pointing to the Household Account. If it's pointing to a different account (like a person account or a previous household), the Household relationship tree won't show it.
    • Third, if the ACR exists and is active but the tree still won't show the member from the Household side, the issue is likely with the Care Program Enrollee or Member Plan record not being associated

The only question I would have is that the member's Contact record a Person Account or a standard Contact? Person Accounts behave differently, as you know.
