Resources from the AMER Ask Me Anything (AMA) Session from the 21st Feb 2024

Here are some of the resources shared as part of the live AMER Ask Me Anything Session

THANK YOU @Rob OBrien @Judi Sohn and @David Cheng for answering great questions and hosting a thoughtful conversation.

These live AMAs are not recorded to allow for open, honest conversations. Here are some written follow-up resources, as promised!

Request to have notifications sent to email when a task is created and when the task is due, we have chatter notifications can we also add an email notification for tasks

  • Tasks functionality is quite basic in Salesforce
  • Flow would probably be your best bet
  • Could you create a flow (scheduled daily flow) to create a chatter notification, which would ALSO send them an email (as long as you have that setup).
  • See also @Flow for Nonprofit Admins

NPSP Training specific to train the organization on outlook integration

  • Note from the chat: If they log into Salesforce each day, Mopsy on the homepage is a better way to show tasks that are due or overdue. It’s a free app.
  • Einstein Activity Capture, but also EAC has a lot of limitations
  • My write-up on Mopsy (includes link to the AppExchange): https://www.freelikeapuppy.tech/post/mopsy
  • See also @Nonprofit App Advice and Reviews for past threads about Outlook

Looking for two product/process recommendations:

1. We are currently using Authy for Salesforce MFA compliance, initially chosen because of it’s desktop/mobile flexibility. But Authy has recently announced they’re retiring the desktop version next month. Some staff have never used the mobile login and I’m envisioning support time to get them changed over and additional support needed moving forward. It may be a good time to switch to another Authenticator provider and/or SSO. We’re a mid size non profit (70 users.) Any experiences, recommendations on how to set something up that may be a win-win (goals are less user frustration with login, less admin support.) We may even be able to find small budget, if it makes the process easier all around.

2. We need to map contact data from Salesforce to a PDF document that has to be in the exact format of the PDF. We currently use JotForm because it’s cost effective and the formatting works well but Salesforce integrations challenges.

  • You can use a work vault and personal vault on the same computer
  • Could look into Form Titan
  • Okta has a program that supports nonprofits
  • I didn't get much else down for this one, hosts anything to add?

How can I prepare for non-profit cloud? I know thats a big question but is there a way I can check out the features in a dev org?

  • As a partner, you can get into different environments
  • If you are not a partner, you can get a learner org (30 day trial), start a free Nonprofit Cloud trial
  • The NPC data model is VERY different so keep this in mind
  • If you go to NPC you would need to start with a brand new org
  • Will likely need to involve a partner, so maybe focus what you have now and npsp will get maintained
  • See @Agentforce Nonprofit (Nonprofit Cloud)

Could you cover basic steps for importing Household set up from NPSP into NPC. Would be good to hear how to approach the data model for Party Relationship Groups, AcctAcctRelations etc

  • Not every contact needs a household in npc
  • This is one of the biggest challenges
  • Theres no mapping for greetings ex like npsp would do
  • For mailings, maybe focus on the person record and dedupe

I have a question regarding data import. I’m using Data import wizard in NPSP to import data through a csv file, but I don’t know how to map the new custom fields that I recently created.

Our clients are mostly nonprofits org, do you have any donation tools recommendation, aside from Classy, that integrates with the new NPC? Are there any things we should be aware of (or red flags)?

Call outs from the hosts!

Final thoughts:

Thanks again to our hosts and everyone who attended! Hope to see you all again at a future session, see links in the group sidebar or above^ woo!

    Thanks Lizzy for your question.

It was just a problem with Chrome not displaying correctly the page!?!

Thanks to @Fabrice Pierre for his help.

    Best regards
