#SF Authenticator0 debatiendo

a Salesforce User was reassigned to a new email that I have access to, however, the old user had a security question and when we reset the password, we haven't been able to setup the autheticator app on this account so I can't navigate there.

Is there a way of gaining access without putting in a support ticket?

Hello @Jessica Hedberg please disconnect the MFA Application from this user, and after do again the MFA procedure to attach your phone this time.

I have completed all the steps in the Multi-factor Authentication and Single Sign-On Settings Superbadge but cannot pass the final challenge - Lightning Login and Salesforce Authenticator App. I can login as Brochane and connect the Salesforce Authenticator app. When I click to Enroll in Lightning Login I get a screen that says Approval Required, but nothing happens in my Salesforce authenticator app to request approval. I have disconnected and re-connected the app multiple times but nothing works. What else can I do to get this working and pass the challenge?

I wasn't missing any steps. If anyone else gets stuck here, for some reason enabling the correct system permissions setting wasn't actually saving in my permission set. I tried saving another random permission and that seemed to register, so then I went and saved the specific permission for this badge and that time the saved worked. The classic turn it off, then turn it back on seemed to work here.

Has anyone had to set up users who aren't using either the SF authenticator app or another authenticator app? We use Duo and have a few users who just use the key fob currently and not the mobile app.

Yes, we always have the physical device as an option but I'd say 90%+ use the push notification on the Duo app.

I have a user that does not want to share their personal information when signing up for MFA - does anyone have a recommended authenticator app that will support this? The user states that SF authenticator requires their phone number (unfortunately they do not have access to a business phone).

Are there any 'Hardware Dongle' options? I'm sure to have users who don't want to add a business app to their personal mobile.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question about logging into SF on your cell phone through the app when MFA is turned on. We don't have MFA turned on a the moment but when we do, we are leaning towards everyone having security keys. We are doing this because the employees cell phones are not paid for by the company and they do not want to have another app on their personal phones. Some of them do have the SF app so they can log in and do a quick run down of their accounts when they are out of the office and they like having the option (either on their cell phones or tablets). My question is if MFA is turned on, and they are required to use a security key, how will they be able to log in? I'm assuming the security key doesn't work with cell phones or tablets. What is the best way to work around this if they can't have the SF Authenticator app on their personal devices?

Hi Salesforce Pros,

We are preparing to turn on Salesforce Authenticator, in classic.  In most cases, our users are able to use the SF Authenticator App but there are instances where we will need to use a token. I know the token needs to be U2F but does it need to be a USB token but does the system allow for tokens that do not connect via USB?   If so where would I go to import the token id number for a user?
