Any recommendations for a large file sharing service that is not too pricey but still functional?
#Sharing Files
- as I mentioned earlier, AWS, Azure etc are just pure storage options. You are correct in saying that their setup and usage will need some level of technical expertise + you will have to build an integration (authentication, user interface, file actions, general file management etc) between the storage platform and Salesforce + educate your non-technical end users.
If you can manage the storage platform setup and config then there are Salesforce AppExchange apps that can get you started in jiffy, so you shouldn't have to invest too much time, effort and cost in the integration and education.
I can't speak for ShareFile and WeTransfer because I haven't used them, though they are definitely a world apart from AWS, Azure etc. When you evaluate various options you may want to consider the following abilities within Salesforce;
- easy, no-fuss integration
- browse, upload, view, download, copy, organize files to/on a record
- email/share files from a record etc.
- current and future scalability for your business both in terms of usage and users. Re-investing in a new solution 3-4 years down the the line can be a pain.
P.S.: Both WeTransfer and ShareFile seem to be using various AWS services in the background.
