Get Started with Setup with Agentforce

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Explain how Agentforce streamlines admin tasks in Setup.
  • Outline the capabilities supported by Setup with Agentforce.
  • Enable Setup with Agentforce.

Introducing Setup with Agentforce

Setup with Agentforce boosts admin productivity by simplifying tasks and reducing repetitive work. Getting work done in Setup can be hard because it often requires specialized knowledge, multiple steps, and navigating through many pages. Now, you can work with an AI agent directly in the flow of work in Setup to complete tasks, get information, and troubleshoot issues.

Note

Setup with Agentforce is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement, if executed by Customer, and the Non-GA Credit Consumption term in the Product Terms Directory. Enabling this pilot or beta service consumes Data 360 credits and is at the Customer's sole discretion.

What the Setup Agent Can Do

Setup with Agentforce can assist you with many of the most common Setup tasks. Here are some examples.

  • Manage users.
  • Troubleshoot user access.
  • Manage permission sets, permission set groups, organization-wide defaults, and sharing rules.
  • Create custom objects and fields.
  • Create and manage flows.
  • Get information from Salesforce Help.
  • Navigate to the right Setup page to complete a task.
  • Create a custom report type.
  • Create Lightning pages.
  • Create, modify, and get an explanation of formulas.
  • Get information about usage and licenses.

While the Setup agent can do a lot to support you, you’re always in control. The agent only takes action when you approve and only helps with tasks for which you have the correct permissions. Plus, you can keep track of all changes made by the agent in the Setup Audit Trail.
