Attributes and Assignments
Each user in Salesforce Spiff has many attributes. These include name, email address, role (permissions), default currency, and so on. And users are typically assigned to various teams, commission plans, and quotas. In this unit, let’s find out how you can change some of this user data from the Mass Data Management page
Edit a User
To edit a user in Salesforce Spiff:
- Go to the Users tab under Mass Data Management.
- Click

- Make your changes, then save your work.
Note that you can only update the following fields:
- Currency
- Role
Assign Plans
Assigning the correct plan to users ensures they’re only interacting with data that’s relevant to their role.
To assign a plan to the user:
- Select Plans Assignments under Mass Data Management.
- Click

- Select the plan that you wish to add more users to.
- Find and select the user or team to whom you want to assign the plan.
- Click

A user can be part of multiple commission plans, depending on their role and the structure of the organization’s compensation strategy. Review these assignments periodically to make sure users are assigned to the correct plans.
Assign Teams
Team assignments enable you to organize users into groups. You can manage commission plans or reports, track performance, and set rules based on team structure.
To assign users to a team:
- Select Team Assignments under Mass Data Management.
- Click

- Select the team that you want to add users to.
- Find and select the user or team you want to assign to the team.

Manage Quotas
Quota management is central to ensuring sales teams have clear targets. To set quotas for a user:
- Click Quotas under Mass Data Management.
- Click

- Find and select the user you wish to add to the quota table.
- Save your work.
- Click
to enter quota amounts for the desired reps.
Quotas are tied directly to commission plans and payouts, so it’s important to ensure they’re accurate and up-to-date. You can also adjust quotas throughout the year to reflect changes in goals or performance.
User Profile Page
What if you want to edit the data of just one user? Meet the user profile page. To navigate to a user’s profile page, click any user in the Users tab. On the user profile page, you can view and edit a user’s details, including roles, team and plan assignments, and quota tracking. You can also control data syncing and change user visibility settings.
Salesforce Spiff makes it easy for you to keep user roles up-to-date, assign relevant commission plans and teams, maintain current currency exchange rates, and set clear quotas. So you optimize operations and ensure security and precision across the platform.
