Revenue Management Consultant Overview

As a Revenue Management Consultant, you deliver the best value when you:

  • Design and implement revenue management products on core.
  • Stay up-to-date on the Product-to-Cash lifecycle.
  • Meet customer business requirements.
  • Support customer success and adoption of Revenue Cloud Advanced.

This badge highlights key updates you need to know for Summer ’26 to keep your certification current and your skills sharp.

Product Configurator

We’ve made it even easier to stay organized by improving features around how you manage products. With the latest release, Product Configurator helps you ensure accurate product combinations, automate groupings, and filter with preset categories.

Define Constraints for Quote Groups and Ramp Segments

Define constraints that apply to products in a group to get more precise control over complex quotes. For example, now you can configure constraints for a specific segment in a ramp deal for accurate product combinations, validation, and pricing within a quote group or a ramp segment. To define a constraint for a group, use the SalesTransactionGroup attribute to create a virtual group.

Load Product Defaults into Constraints

Dynamically include product defaults such as attributes, attribute values, custom fields, and standard fields that are defined in Product Catalog Management (PCM) when you import products from PCM to a constraint. Check out Load Product Defaults into Constraints and How to Create a Constraint Model for more information. When you import products using Constraint Modeling Language (CML) Editor, include the productField attribute annotation in the constraint to specify which field values to import. When you import products using Visual Builder, the Constraint Rules Engine automatically includes product defaults defined in PCM.

Updates in Default Product Configurator Flow

If you cloned the Default Product Configurator flow before Summer ’26, you may need to manually map the new attributes in your customized flow, or clone the default flow and apply your customizations again. A boolean value that indicates whether Amendment, Renewal, and Cancellation (ARC) validation runs during product configuration. Use the new ARC Validation Enabled attribute of the Input type on the Product Configurator Data Manager flow component.

Changed Connect REST API in Product Configurator

Group Product Configurator messages together by a specific value–for example, constraint issues across a set of related line items. Additionally, be aware that the Connect REST API Response Body Configurator Message response has a new property (groupByValue), which specifies the value from Constraint Modeling Language rule action details.

Transaction Management

We’ve made many improvements to our transaction management features, including Sales Transaction Line Editor (STLE), Document Builder, and Transaction Management. Now you can manage quotes and orders more efficiently with improved performance and flexibility across the transaction lifecycle and enjoy additional upgrades to the following.

  • Sales Transaction Line Editor (STLE): We’ve enhanced attribute visibility in the STLE and removed the fixed height limit.
  • Quotes and orders:
    • Clone quotes and orders with all related records to reduce manual rework and maintain consistency across the original transaction.
    • Sales reps can now sell different versions such as size or color of a single base product after you set up product variations in your catalog.
    • Manage complex and highly configurable quotes in standard transactions by increasing the number of product attributes.
  • Multi-year quoting: Use a guided flow to generate multi-year ramp schedules instead of manually cloning segments.
  • Renew ramped assets: Sales reps can select ramped assets for early renewal to terminate existing segments and consolidate subscriptions under a single, forward-looking ramp schedule.
  • Process more records per transaction: Increase the number of records persisted for each transaction to reduce saving cycles and improve efficiency for high-volume operations.
  • Document Builder: Document Builder now runs on a robust, high-scale framework designed to handle your most complex business document needs.
  • Quote and tax data: Track deal changes and business processes more efficiently with reports on Quote Line Item History and Quote Action records.
  • Secure data access: Improve business continuity during sales transaction pricing while protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access. Turn on Elevated Data Access for Pricing Quotes and Orders and Procedure Plan Orchestration for Pricing and restrict fields from the context by using custom Apex hooks. The pricing engine accesses the data internally to make sure that a transaction price is correct, but users without field-level security can’t query, view, or modify the fields used to calculate pricing.
  • Transaction Management:
    • We’ve changed the Connect REST API in Transaction Management to query a specific set of fields on an sObject, rather than all fields, to improve performance.
    • Automate the cloning of quotes and orders along with their related records to streamline sales processes and reduce manual effort.

In this badge, you learned about some of the most important Revenue Management Consultant feature releases over the past few months. Now it’s time to test your understanding of these topics.
