Hello All,

I am wondering if anyone has any feedback to the relevance of STO for international sends. Can it help identify the best time to send in different time zones? I assume it simply works the same as it would locally, i.e. sends based on whether the personalized send time is set. We are looking for the best time to send to an international audience, but I am unsure that STO takes time zone into account.

Thank you for any input.

Best, XAn

The time zone is taken by Einstein STO from the Einstein STO Dashboard? The Einstein STO Dashboard time zone is used to determine even though whatever time zone we provided in the scheduling in the journey builder.  Is it correct?

I plan to use STO in a journey which sends a new email every day for 10 days. If I use STO on Day 6 and set the time frame for 24 hours for the test, how does it affect the rest of the journey? Will some customers then receive two emails on Day 7? Do I need to add an extra day to wait following Day 6?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Samantha!

Einstein STO is basically a modified wait activity in your journey.  So think of it the same way--if you set your window to a full 24 hours, then you have to assume that some of your contacts making their way through the journey would wait that full time before receiving the email.  Depending on when contacts are being injected into your journey, you might consider changing the wait activity prior to the STO to be a shorter timespan than 1 day, or reducing the STO timespan to ensure that it will happen in the same day (a recent journey I worked on injected contacts daily at 6AM, and had a twelve hour STO from 7am-7pm.

Salesforce recommends using a random audience split prior to your STO so that you can measure results--and in their example here, they recommend combining a wait with a STO if you have a minimum one-day wait between email sends:

"To optimize send times when there’s a minimum one-day wait between email messages in a customer journey, combine a wait activity and the Einstein STO activity.

Northern Trails Outfitters (NTO) marketing manager, Lisa, wants to optimize customer engagement for a welcome campaign. After customers subscribe to the NTO newsletter, they receive a series of three emails that set expectations and highlight the benefits of subscribing. Before the second and third messages, Lisa has included a wait activity that instructs the system to wait two days before sending the next message. To ensure that an email is sent to each subscriber when that subscriber is most likely to engage with it, Lisa adds the Einstein STO activity between the wait activity and email activity for the second and third messages.

A customer named Alice and a customer named Bjorn both subscribe to the newsletter on a Tuesday. They each receive the initial welcome message within a few minutes. Remember, the journey doesn’t include an Einstein STO activity before this message. So the message sends when Alice and Bjorn reach the first email activity in the journey. The second message is scheduled to send on Thursday. Based on Alice’s individual subscriber engagement behavior over the past 90 days, the journey sends the second message to Alice at 11:00 AM. Based on Bjorn’s engagement history, the journey sends the message to Bjorn at 7:00 PM."

Be sure to test your solution to make sure that you're seeing the results that you're expecting to see!

I have Pardot Advanced, enabled Send Time Optimization last week, and have been reviewing the Pardot Einstein Features Implementation Guide. However, nowhere am I finding the STO to add to an Engagement Program or Email Template Drafts. Do I have to manually set up an individual email to track it? #Pardot #Pardot Email #Einstein Send Time Optimization

The Email Content is a new(ish) object as far as I am aware.

"EmailContent is only available for orgs that use Pardot. The Manage Email Content user permission is required. Users also need the CRM User, Sales, or Service User permission set. EmailContent isn’t available for custom portal or guest users."

Once you have the necessary permissions you should be able to access.

I'm pretty sure the send time optimization is only from that tab and not the Pardot email builder

Hi.

I have a lot of child business units handling marketing sends on country levels. All of these child business units have Einstein STO turned on. Some links in the mails sent on child business unit level have certain tracking aliases. I monitor clicks on these tracking aliases, and if I notice a subscriber clicking on these links I send an email from the parent business unit to the subscriber exploring the content of the clicked link further. The Einstein STO dashboard informs: 'Einstein analyzes the past 90 days of email engagement history for email addresses in this enterprise account with the Commercial send classification.' So, I'm assuming I could actually benefit from sending the mail from the parent business unit to the subscriber using STO though it might be the first send from the parent business unit to that subscriber as Einstein analyzes email engagement history for my entire enterprise account.. right? Can you use the send throttling Delivery Window in addition to Einstein Send Time Optimization for email sends?

Yes you can. You can use both send throttling and STO. STO basically help you in case you are using a journey to send out the communications, and you have selected STO in one of the paths.

In order to be doubly sure, you can add STO at one path and use the send throttling in the different path.

Hi all.

Please help me:

In Marketing Cloud I have 79.131 Email addresses, and 10.939 of these have an Assigned Personalized Send Time.

In Marketing Cloud Journey Builder I want to split my audience into two:

I want those with an Assigned Personal Send Time to go along one path.

I want those without an Assigned Personal Send Time to go along another path.

I want to do this to compare open rates for the audiences and hopefully be able to prove the value of Einstein Send Time Optimization.

How would I accomplish this?

Thank you very much :)

Hi there, our team is looking to implement Einstein Send Time Optimization for a client who also uses Return Path to track deliverability. However, in order to use this functionality we need to use the STO functionality the email campaign has to be sent as part of a journey and the Return Path box that we typically check (to gather data) for our sends isn't present.

The other issue we're running into is that using this functionality won't allow us to export the click activity PDF that we always generate to see what content is resonating with subscribers. Have you had any other clients successfully implement STO? If so, we'd love to hear how they handled this.

Hi All,

I’m doing some Journey test with Einstein STO. I’m seeing there is more than a half data is pending personalized Send Time and email is sent on first Einstein slot. There is any chance to do an Split for contact with assigned send time?

Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

Can you break down Einstein Send Time Optimization to a more granular level?

I've recently activated the send time optimization report which looks great. However due to the nature of our business, a key communication goes out at a set time twice a week which has a high level of engagement. This heavily skews the report to those two send times, which isn't helpful for our wider communications.

I can't see a way of breaking the data down any further than at the business unit level. This report would be extremely useful at a campaign level or something similar.

Any ideas on how I can break this data down?
