Hi everyone!

Some of my users are consistently getting this error message when trying to post to LinkedIn (not happening for Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter). Has anyone else experienced this/do you have any tips? Thank you! @Brandon Etheredge #Ask An Expert #SocialStudioTips #AskAMarketingCloudExpert

A contact is already in the journey. He/she is tested for a particular field, say 'opt-in' status. If 'opted in' then go one way else go other way. When he/she entered the journey the status was 'opted in', however when he reached this check point, his/her status was changed to 'opted out' but still he/she is going 'opted in' way.

I guess it's something to do with 'contact data/journey data' but I am not sure.

Every automation has minimum 1 hr of waiting to re-run. Can this be bypassed? Is there a way to update a field immediately in the DE using automation?

    Hi Courtney,

Sorry for the inconvenience. In case you don't receive a response here, may I also to contact LinkedIn Support Team to get additional help on this.

We do not use publication lists right now, but very soon we are going to implement 5 publication lists. How can we automatically add any new subscribers to all 5 lists? Our subscribers are extracted from sales cloud daily and live in a data extension.   I believe for all current subscribers, we can import them to each publication list, a small, one-time task. (I thank the community here for helping out with that!) But going forward we want to ensure that all new subscribers are automatically added to each publication list. That way if they visit the subscription center they see they're subscribed to everything. And this would avoid situations where users see they're subscribed to 2 lists one day and 5 a week later without manually changing their preferences.

I received a solution detailed below, but it seems rather complex for this situation: -You can create a Scheduled automation and use Data extension extract to extract the updated Data extension and then use File transfer to move it to FTP and then configure an import activity to the publication list.

Thanks in advance! :)

Jacob

    Hi Jacob,

Sorry to say but the given recommended solution is the best and the easiest one in case you want to go with Publication Lists :

    -----

I received a solution detailed below, but it seems rather complex for this situation: -You can create a Scheduled automation and use Data extension extract to extract the updated Data extension and then use File transfer to move it to FTP and then configure an import activity to the publication list.

However, Best way to implement such a scenario is to use the custom preference center page using SFMC Landing Pages where the data is consumed directly from DE and in such a case separate Publication list will be not required.

    Thanks.

I am trying to build a Data Extension with the Journey History Data from the last 90 days (Contact Key, Journey, Activity, Status, Date Time).

By default, SFMC Journey Builder gives us the last 30 days data on the Journey History Tab, but I also could not find anyway to export it.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I found some interesting articles showing that this can be accomplished with an API:

  1. https://sfmarketing.cloud/2019/11/27/get-journey-history-by-filtering-the-definition-id-via-api/
  2. https://www.forcetalks.com/blog/saving-journey-history-in-salesforce-marketing-cloud/
  3. https://gortonington.com/journey-history-for-last-30-days-via-api/

As I am still not familiar with AMPScript, SSJS and APIs, I was not able to use any code to build the APIs mentioned in the articles and therefore the final DE.

Just to clarify, the granularity that I´m looking for is the one contained in the Journey History Tab, which can NOT be achieved by joining _Journey and _JourneyActivity DataViews.

Can someone shed a light on this?

This is basically the same question that @valerie nguyen asked on Nov 5, 2020.

Kind Regards,

Conrado

You may have to continuously be extracting the data so you can always have the last 90 days available.

For exporting the data, the links you provided have code that you could use to extract the data with the API using SSJS.

So you may have to use Automation Studio to automatically collect the data on a daily basis.

Create an automation with 2 activities. One activity for an SSJS Script to save the data from the last saved date (using the API) and add it to a DE, and the second activity in SQL to determine the timestamp for the next run.

We used documentation from our rep to get information from the _Sent, _Open, and _Click data views into our master loyalty Data Extension. However, when I try to use the same process for our transactional email addresses, nothing is returning from the _Sent view (and I haven’t even tried the other two yet). I have a feeling it’s because all emails set up to go to those addresses are housed in  journeys (not on the transactional API yet although that’s a WIP).

Do email sends from journeys end up in the _Sent data view? If not, how do I get that information? If so, what other parts might I need to include in my query?

I created a manual DE using the contact's SF Contact ID and the contact record secondary email address, however upon deployment it pulled in the primary email address. Why did this happen and how can I ensure the address I uploaded in the DE is used rather than the default primary on the associated contact record?

Note this was for a seed list, so I can also create a second contact record for each of these people in my source system. My goal was to ensure each DE I use has a SFID vs email as the ID.

We have a main MC account and one BU. Synchronized DEs are accessible only in the main account. We have created a filtered DE from the Sync DE and put it in shared folder. This filtered DE is accessible from BU (in the shared folder), however being a filtered DE we are not able to filter it further.

One way I could think of is to use query automation (by copying the data from this shared/filtered DE to a new DE), however being a little techy, don't want to give this solution to the client. Is there a simpler way out? Is it feasible to directly access the Sync DE from the BU?

Hey @Ajay Rohera have a look at the DESelect app that helps segment without the need to use SQL queries, but simply drag-and-drop, this will eliminate the necessity to dive into the tech explanations on how to filter the synced or synchronized DEs to your client.
